ACL Injury Prevention Program

You land a jump, twist to avoid a defender, or stop suddenly to change directions. Then you hear a "pop" sound, suffer searing pain, and your knee gives way when you try to put weight on it. You have just sustained a torn or ruptured ACL, one of the most devastating injuries an athlete can experience.
The anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) is one of the four ligaments that join the femur (thigh bone) to the tibia (shin bone). Its main function is to stabilize the knee and prevent hyperextension of the joint. Sports, such as basketball, soccer, volleyball, gymnastics, cheerleading and skiing, place an athlete at a high risk of damaging this key strap of connective tissue.
Over the past 15 years, ankle sprains have decreased by 86% and tibia fractures by 88%, but knee ligament injuries have increased by 172%.
The ACL has a relatively poor blood supply and has no ability to heal a complete tear. A torn anterior cruciate ligament means surgery and months of therapy. Even after the ligament is repaired, persons who remain athletic have a 75% chance of further joint damage and/or progressive arthritis.

THERE IS A SOLUTION.
ACL PREVENTION PROGRAMS CAN REDUCE THE RISK OF TEARS BY UP TO 88%!

Exercises that help an individual to develop increased strength, flexibility, proprioception (a sense of where your body is in space) and agility have been proven to assist athletes in preventing and healing from ACL injuries.

The staff at Explosive Sports Performance is well prepared to help you develop proper landing techniques, avoid perilous positions when stopping and cutting, and improve balance and muscle strength. Participation in this program will help you to reduce your risk from a major injury, while enhancing your sports performance and making you a better overall athlete

Take Action.
Avoid a terrifying injury.
Maximize your talent.
